Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Although, I’m a big fan of Harry Potter and the movie series, I was a bit disappointed with the latest installment. I understand that they had to cram 870 pages worth of it, but a lot of the good bits got cut or changed around.

The first part of the movie moved too fast that it did not build on Harry’s growing anger, which would’ve been the indication that he had a connection with Voldemort. And the Order of the Phoenix, was not given enough explanation to give it any real significance in the story. The much awaited kissing scene was not as exciting as they hyped it out to be. But it still was interesting to see anyway. :-)

The acting was great overall. Daniel Radcliffe clearly has grown in his part as Harry.
And the rest of the cast, mostly cameos, are spot on albeit short. I did not however, much liked Emma Watson’s portrayal of Hermione. She came off too agitated at times, or to put it simply, overacting. The real star of the movie however, was Imelda Staunton, as most hated Professor Dolores Umbridge.

I did love how they created the Ministry of Magic office. And the fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort was really exciting to watch.

As a fan, I still would not have missed this movie for the world. But couldn’t they have added a few more minutes to it?

Can’t wait to watch the next sequel, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, though and see their take on it.
